Example: Photosynthesis: process plants use to make food — or paste columns straight from a spreadsheet (tab- or comma-separated). Add up to three more optional fields — example sentence, pronunciation guide, part of speech — as more columns, or as "| example | pronunciation | part of speech" after the definition (each one optional).

Pictures
Give a word a picture and it prints above the word on its flashcard, foldable card and word-wall card. Pictures are kept in this browser only, shrunk to fit a card, and belong to the word, so the same word in another list shows the same picture. A shared link, a list file and Word Lists carry the words, not the pictures.

Prints one numbered front page and one numbered back page — no
real cards yet — so you can check your printer's duplex settings before committing a whole class set.
Click a card to flip between the term and its definition, or use Prev/Next to move through the list on a screen with a student.
Terms are hidden across, down, or on a forward diagonal (no
backwards words). Only the letters of each term make it into the grid — spaces and punctuation are
dropped, so "Cell division" becomes CELLDIVISION. A term that can't find room in the grid is dropped and
listed, not silently missing. Prints a puzzle page and a separate answer-key page.
A best-effort layout, not a perfect solver: terms are placed
longest-first wherever they share a letter with something already on the grid, and a term that shares no
letters with anything else is dropped and listed rather than forcing a broken puzzle. Lists of related
terms (shared letters) place better than a grab-bag of unrelated words. Definitions become the clues, so
a term with no definition can't be included. Prints a clue page and a separate answer-key page.
Card size (3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 with a FREE center)
scales with how many words/definitions are available. Each card is a different random layout so a class
doesn't get identical cards. Prints one page per card, plus a caller's master list.
Terms with a definition get a numbered left column and a
scrambled, lettered right column, with a blank for students to write the matching letter. Prints the quiz
and a separate answer key.
One Frayer page per word: the word in the middle, and the four boxes
Definition, Characteristics, Examples and Non-examples. “Filled in” puts the list’s
definition and example sentence in their boxes for students to build on.
Each word’s example sentence, with the word blanked out, and an
answer key page. A word with no example sentence, or whose sentence does not contain the word as a whole
word, is left out and listed below the preview.
The words are taken in list order, a few new ones each teaching day,
and each is reviewed again on the days you list. Days are teaching days: with a first day set, weekends are
skipped; with none, they are only numbered. The plan belongs to this list and names no student.
Give each word a unit. It is kept with the word in Word Lists, so it
comes with the list. Cards print one unit at a time (the page sizes are Word wall cards’), the index
lists every word on the wall, and a unit you retire leaves the wall and the index and goes on the take-down list.

Question bank
The site’s shared question bank is kept on Quiz / Review Game Board. A question is a card: the question on the front, its answer on the back. Nothing is added to this list or to the bank until you press a button. A question’s picture stays in the bank: a card has its words only.
