Lab Group & Role Randomizer

Split a roster into lab groups and hand out rotating jobs — the tool remembers who's had which role so nobody is stuck as Recorder forever.

1 · Roster
0 names
2 · Safety Contract Gate (optional)

Reads a class you pick from Lab Safety Contract Tracker (read-only — nothing here changes it) and checks each name on the roster above against it. Matching is by exact name spelling, since the two tools keep separate rosters.

3 · Grouping
4 · Roles

Every group gets these roles, one per student, distinct within the group. Extra students beyond the role list are labeled "Team Member." Add, rename, or remove roles freely.

5 · Stations & Equipment (optional)

Give each group a station and its equipment set — "I have 7 microscopes" is the real constraint, not just "groups of 4." Leave this empty to skip station assignment. If there are fewer stations than groups, some groups will share.

6 · Keep Apart (optional)
&
Pairs listed here will be split into different lab groups whenever possible — useful for keeping two students off the same bench.
7 · Shuffle

Add a roster on the left, then click "Shuffle groups & roles."
